Checklist for Equipping your Ultimate Home Cleaning Caddy

Do you often find yourself running back and forth between the room you are cleaning and your supply closet? Or do you try to maintain a tool kit that gets wet after cleaning your first room? I had a problem wiping down all my products after I was done cleaning. Where could I leave them to dry when my entire house is sparkly clean?

I started splitting up my cleaning tools over two caddies- a dry and a wet- and haven’t looked back since. I start with all my equipment in the dry caddy and move some into the wet caddy after cleaning the first room. Your wet caddy could be a bucket, so that it can be repurposed to fill water while mopping. I prefer maintaining a smaller wet caddy and a separate bucket that I can drop it into after use.

Here’s my checklist for equipping your ultimate home cleaning caddy:

Dry Caddy:

  1. Disinfectant spray

  2. Toilet cleaning liquid

  3. Glass cleaner

  4. Multi surface cleaner

  5. Dishwashing liquid

  6. Squeegee

  7. Sponge scourer for soap

  8. Sponge scourer for water

  9. Long handle brush

  10. Paper towels or disinfectant wipes

  11. Towel to keep wet

  12. Towel to wipe dry

  13. Duster

  14. Toilet cleaning brush (preferably leave 1 in each bathroom)

Things to move into the Wet Caddy after cleaning the first room:

  1. Squeegee

  2. Used sponge scourers

  3. Damp cloths

  4. Long handle brush

It’s THAT simple.

No more running around and worrying about water dripping around your house!

Pro tip: Return products to their respective caddy as soon as you are done using them. If you follow my 'Secret Cleaning Sequence to an Immaculate Home' checklist, you will know exactly when to return them!
